In this drought season, there may be an increase in bear activity in and around town and neighborhoods. It is often a treat to spot a bear in the wild, but we don’t like to see them visiting trash cans, bird feeders, campsites, or dumpsters. Up to 100 bears are euthanized in Colorado each year after getting into conflict with humans.
Pete Wadden, Town of Vail Watershed Specialist, will present on the adaptations and lifestyle of this iconic species and how to be a responsible resident of bear country.
Lunch will be provided.
