The Town of Vail will observe the Independence Day holiday with closures for most municipal offices on Friday, July 4. Customers are asked to plan accordingly and call ahead to confirm availability at 970-479-2100. Services are also available online at www.vail.gov.
The police front counter in the Municipal Building will be closed on July 4. Services will still be available via the call button at the main entrance. Call 911 for police, fire or medical emergencies or 970-479-2201 to speak to an officer for non-emergency issues.
The Vail Welcome Centers and Vail Transit services will operate uninterrupted throughout the holiday. Visit https://ride.vail.gov for schedules and real time bus information.
The Vail Public Library will be closed on July 4, then will reopen on July 5 and resume Sunday hours beginning July 6. New operating hours will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week. The hours provide an opportunity for patrons to visit the library one hour earlier on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and will allow the library to serve the most patrons during the library's busiest times. Evening programming will continue as scheduled. Visit https://vaillibrary.com/ for details.
All Town of Vail offices will reopen for business with regular hours on Monday, July 7.
Residents are reminded that the Independence Day holiday may mean some schedule adjustments for local trash haulers. Town of Vail wildlife protection regulations prohibit trash from being left at the curb other than on the day of collection and recycling regulations require that all properties recycle on site.
