Dobson Arena Remodel
Crews are adding steel plates to the 12 rafter beams in the ceiling to reinforce the structure and extend the lifespan of the ceiling and roof structure. Each plate is held in with fist-size bolts. Most of the demolition work inside the arena is complete and crews are turning their attention to the architectural features, transforming the building into its new shape. The remodel includes the addition of bathrooms, locker rooms and an elevator for accessibility. The upgrades will increase the maximum spectator capacity of the arena to 1,400 for hockey games and 3,500 for concerts and shows. Holy Cross Energy has activated temporary transformers to get power to the building. There will be full road closures and single-lane closures of West Meadow Drive throughout the project. Please avoid the area if possible and follow all instructions given by the traffic control personnel. The project is scheduled to be completed in the fall 2026. Contractor is Hyder Construction.
