Vail Public Library offers access to information resources of many types for the needs of Vail’s guests, residents, businesses and schools.

Vail Public Library not only offers fiction and non-fiction books, audiobooks and DVDs for checkout, it also offers access to electronic resources including audiobooks, books, magazines, music, and video with a library card.

Other library services include: nearly 300 magazine subscriptions, internet computers, free WIFI, and special programs for all ages.

The Vail Public Library is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The library is located on the town's bus route across from Dobson Ice Arena at the east end of Lionshead (292 W. Meadow Dr.)

Police Seeking Assistance with Motor Vehicle Theft

A gray Jeep Grand Cherokee stolen from Vail Health on July 31 was recovered on Aug. 1.

Update on Aug. 1, 2025: The stolen vehicle has been recovered out of state and a suspect has been arrested. 

At approximately 6:50 p.m. on July 31, a 2021 grey Jeep Grand Cherokee with Colorado license plate ALAVRG was stolen from Vail Health. An individual was seen on video entering the vehicle and driving away without the owner’s permission. The same individual was seen driving the vehicle eastbound on I-70 from East Vail. At the time of the theft, the subject was wearing a black hooded jacket, light grey pants and black and white basketball shoes.  

The Vail Police Department is requesting assistance in locating the individual pictured. Those with any information related to this case are asked to contact Detective Andrew Thomas at athomas@vail.gov or the Vail Police Department at 970-479-2201. 

All suspects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
