Vail Public Library not only offers fiction and non-fiction books, audiobooks and DVDs for checkout, it also offers access to electronic resources including audiobooks, books, magazines, music, and video with a library card.
Other library services include: nearly 300 magazine subscriptions, internet computers, free WIFI, and special programs for all ages.
The Vail Public Library is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The library is located on the town's bus route across from Dobson Ice Arena at the east end of Lionshead (292 W. Meadow Dr.)

Save the Date for the 2025 Vail Social
The event will take place on Sept. 9.
Gather together with the people closest to you at the Vail Social Community Potluck, taking place from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 9 in Vail Village. Table reservations open at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13 at www.vailsocial.com and will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The event is free and will be held rain or shine.
This will be the sixth year for the Vail Social, which originated as a reboot of an earlier community gathering documented in Vail’s photo archives from the 1970s. Approximately 700 community members have gathered each year since the event’s launch to celebrate their love of Vail and to meet or reconnect with their neighbors, while enjoying an old-fashioned community potluck dinner.
While details are still being finalized for the 2025 Vail Social, the format will draw upon the success of the previous events. This includes the town providing outdoor seating, eight to a table, with community members signing up as “table hosts.” Each host will organize who will join them at their table as well as coordinate their potluck menu.
