Featured Projects

Dobson Arena Remodel
Outside of the arena, crews are building a 20-foot wall on the north side where they will build new locker rooms. Crews also will build new restrooms on the north side of the arena. Inside, crews are working at the west end of the building reinforcing columns and the foundation where an elevator will be installed. The remodel also includes the addition of bathrooms, locker rooms and concession area. The upgrades will increase the maximum spectator capacity of the arena to 1,400 for hockey games and 3,500 for concerts and shows. Holy Cross Energy has activated temporary transformers to get power to the building. There will be full road closures and single-lane closures of West Meadow Drive throughout the project. Please avoid the area if possible and follow all instructions given by the traffic control personnel. The project is scheduled to be completed in the fall 2026. Contractor is Hyder Construction. Timber Ridge Village
Crews are installing roof trusses on Building A, where roofing, sheathing, and siding work are expected to continue. Elsewhere on site, excavation, garage slab placement and wall pours continue in sequence as the development team looks ahead to the next round of modular unit installation currently scheduled for mid-August. Traffic control measures will be installed along Lionsridge Loop toward the end of the week in preparation for excavation work for the northern property retaining wall. The Timber Ridge Village housing project consists of a 302-unit multifamily complex. Completion is scheduled for June 2026. The site excavating contractor is Schofield Construction, Joe Haugen, 970-210-0020. The site construction contractor is Jack Hughes, Shaw Construction, 970-471-0448. West Middle Creek Housing Development, 351 N. Frontage Road
Paving and striping of the North Frontage Road are underway following completion of the water main installation. Lane and path closures for public safety will continue between Middle Creek and Solar Vail. Flaggers remain on site to assist with traffic movement during the day (6 a.m. -10 p.m.) and traffic signals are in place overnight (10p.m. - 6 a.m.). Please follow traffic control signals, flagger instructions, and utilize the pedestrian re-route. New fencing as well as water and jersey barriers will be going into place along the North Frontage Road to prepare for lane and path re-opening. At the north end of the property, soil nail wall construction continues. Expect to see ongoing grading and material export across the site. Vail Village

The 62, 278 Hanson Ranch Road (formerly Los Amigos) The 62, former Los Amigos, location.
Work includes complete renovation of the existing restaurant and prep kitchen and landscaping. This week, work is focused on demolition, interior work, and new construction. Work will be ongoing through the summer months. All work is currently contained within the construction fence. The contractor is RA Nelson, Jonny Cohen, 970-471-9258.

816 Forest Road Entry Bridge
Work for the Forest Road duplexes continues, including the footers, new access road and retaining walls. Approval has been granted for use of the lower lot for staging of material and equipment. Vail Village Snowmelt Repairs
The majority of the work will occur along East Meadow Drive. Initial repairs, which will be completed by RH Mechanical, will not impact bus or pedestrian traffic. Town of Vail contact is Chris Delles, 970-471-2749.


Lionshead

Vail Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements, 846 Forest Road
Eagle River Water & Sanitation District is upgrading infrastructure and the wastewater treatment process at their wastewater treatment facility in Vail. The project includes stormwater improvements, paving and landscaping with expected completion this summer. ERWSD contact is Mark Mantua, 970-401-0822.


Outlying

Meadow Drive Drainage Culvert Rehabilitation
C&L Water Solutions, hired by the Town of Vail, begins culvert lining to provide a new interior wall of the pipe on Meadow Drive in front of the racquet club. This method of rehabilitation is significantly less disruptive than traditional excavation to install new culverts. Culvert lining is scheduled to occur through Aug. 15.   • I-70 West Vail Pass Auxiliary Lanes Project traffic holds are in effect from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. This season, CDOT has launched West Vail Pass text alerts. Text 'vailpass' (one word) to 21000. For more information visit the project page.

Online Community Development Portal

Customers of the Community Development Department have access to a 24/7 online portal to submit applications for contractor registration and construction-related permits. The portal, at http://vail.onlinegovt.com/ also accepts planning applications for review by the Design Review Board and Planning Environmental Commission. In addition, residents can access the citizen portal to submit a code enforcement request or check to see the status of any permit activity in their neighborhood.
