Vail Public Library offers access to information resources of many types for the needs of Vail’s guests, residents, businesses and schools.

Vail Public Library not only offers fiction and non-fiction books, audiobooks and DVDs for checkout, it also offers access to electronic resources including audiobooks, books, magazines, music, and video with a library card.

Other library services include: nearly 300 magazine subscriptions, internet computers, free WIFI, and special programs for all ages.

The Vail Public Library is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The library is located on the town's bus route across from Dobson Ice Arena at the east end of Lionshead (292 W. Meadow Dr.)

Police Seek Assistance with Vail Village Incident

The incident took place just after midnight on July 17.

Just after midnight on July 17, Vail Police received a report of an individual forcibly detaining another person without consent. The incident took place near the intersection of Bridge Street and Gore Creek Dr. in Vail Village. 

Despite the victim's attempts to break free, the suspect clung to the victim’s bike, preventing escape. The individual then threw the bike to the ground, further escalating the situation. 

Those with information regarding the identity of the individual pictured or with any additional information related to the incident are asked to contact Officer Uriel Castillo at 970-479-2201 or at ucastillo@vail.gov.  

 All suspects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
