Featured Projects

Dobson Arena Remodel
Crews are working on the expansion of the south side of the arena, where new seating will be installed (from where current concrete floor ends out to the concrete pillars) increasing spectator capacity of the arena to 1,400 for hockey games. New transformer with more power installed at Dobson ArenaOn the west side of the arena, a new higher capacity transformer has been installed to power the expanded facility. Holy Cross Energy has activated temporary transformers while the crew works. There will be full road closures and single-lane closures of West Meadow Drive throughout the project. Please avoid the area if possible and follow all instructions given by the traffic control personnel. The project is scheduled to be completed in the fall 2026. Contractor is Hyder Construction. Timber Ridge Village
Two buildings (Building A and Building F) are now in place and crews start to set modular units for the third (Building B) on Aug. 27.A look between Timber Ridge building and retaining wall. There may continue to be intermittent waits times on the North Frontage Road as trucks deliver units to the property. Lions Ridge Loop is closed to westbound traffic through Crews install stairs in the Timber Ridge building interior.Nov. 15 for retaining wall and parking construction. A single lane will remain open as a one-way for eastbound traffic only. The Lions Ridge Loop bus will remain on a normal operating schedule. The Timber Ridge Village housing project consists of a 302-unit multifamily complex. Completion is scheduled for June 2026. The site excavating contractor is Schofield Construction, Joe Haugen, 970-210-0020. The site construction contractor is Jack Hughes, Shaw Construction, 970-471-0448. West Middle Creek Housing Development, 351 N. Frontage Road
Site work progresses on schedule with continued soil nail wall construction, site grading, and material export across the property. Be aware of trucks regularly entering and exiting the property in support of this work. Solar Vail residents continue to use alternative access through Red Sandstone. With the start of school, flaggers will be located at the Solar Vail/Red Sandstone intersection in the morning and afternoon to assist with traffic flows. Vail Village

The 62, 278 Hanson Ranch Road (formerly Los Amigos) The 62, former Los Amigos, location.
Work includes complete renovation of the existing restaurant and prep kitchen and landscaping. This week, work is focused on demolition, interior work, and new construction. Work will be ongoing through the summer months. All work is currently contained within the construction fence. The contractor is RA Nelson, Jonny Cohen, 970-471-9258.

816 Forest Road Entry Bridge
Work for the Forest Road duplexes continues, including the footers, new access road and retaining walls. Approval has been granted for use of the lower lot for staging of material and equipment. General Contractor is Mexamer Construction Group, Matt Anderson,970-471-3459. Town of Vail contact is Leonard Sandoval, 970-390-4677.

Vail Village Snowmelt Repairs
The majority of the work will occur along East Meadow Drive. Initial repairs, which will be completed by RH Mechanical, will not impact bus or pedestrian traffic. Town of Vail contact is Chris Delles, 970-471-2749.


Lionshead

Vail Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements, 846 Forest Road
Eagle River Water & Sanitation District is upgrading infrastructure and the wastewater treatment process at their wastewater treatment facility in Vail. The project includes stormwater improvements, paving and landscaping with expected completion this summer. ERWSD contact is Mark Mantua, 970-401-0822.


Outlying

Potato Patch Drive Water Tank Maintenance  
Eagle River Water & Sanitation District is performing maintenance activities on the below-grade water tank at 756 Potato Patch Drive. Trucks and other heavy equipment will be parked on the side of the road at this location and activities may occasionally require traffic to travel in the opposite direction of the normal flow on Potato Patch Drive. Traffic control will be in place as needed throughout the project. Work is expected to be complete in mid-November. The ERWSD contact is Dan Duerr, 970-333-6773.

Meadow Drive-Meadow Lane Drainage improvements
360 Civil, hired by the Town of Vail, will upgrade the stormwater culverts in East Vail in three locations. The intersection of Meadow Drive and Meadow Lane, Meadow Drive east of Meadow Lane and Juniper Lane at Bighorn Park. The existing culverts are undersized for the design flows and are in disrepair. Expect period road closures for the installation of the culvert across the roadway. Detours will be in place. Roads will be fully open during non-working hours.   • I-70 West Vail Pass Auxiliary Lanes Project traffic holds are in effect from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. This season, CDOT has launched West Vail Pass text alerts. Text 'vailpass' (one word) to 21000. For more information visit the project page.

Online Community Development Portal

Customers of the Community Development Department have access to a 24/7 online portal to submit applications for contractor registration and construction-related permits. The portal, at http://vail.onlinegovt.com/ also accepts planning applications for review by the Design Review Board and Planning Environmental Commission. In addition, residents can access the citizen portal to submit a code enforcement request or check to see the status of any permit activity in their neighborhood.
