Vail Public Library offers access to information resources of many types for the needs of Vail’s guests, residents, businesses and schools.

Vail Public Library not only offers fiction and non-fiction books, audiobooks and DVDs for checkout, it also offers access to electronic resources including audiobooks, books, magazines, music, and video with a library card.

Other library services include: nearly 300 magazine subscriptions, internet computers, free WIFI, and special programs for all ages.

The Vail Public Library is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The library is located on the town's bus route across from Dobson Ice Arena at the east end of Lionshead (292 W. Meadow Dr.)

Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle in Vail

A pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle at approximately 5 p.m. on Sept. 4.

At 5 p.m. on Sept. 4, the Vail Police Department responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle just west of the Sandstone Roundabout on the South Frontage Rd. The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to Vail Health.  

The driver of the motor vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators. South Frontage Road West is still closed between the roundabout and Westhaven Drive and is expected to reopen by 7:30 p.m. 

The Vail Police Department is being assisted at the scene by the Colorado State Patrol, Vail Fire and Emergency Services, Eagle County Paramedic Services and the Vail Public Safety Communications Center.
