Dobson Arena Remodel
Crews continue to do underground plumbing and electrical work. All of the utilities for the arena will be underground. Crews continue working on the exterior of the arena; there will be full road closures and single-lane closures of West Meadow Drive throughout the project. Please avoid the area if possible and follow all instructions given by the traffic control personnel. The project is scheduled to be completed in the fall 2026. Contractor is Hyder Construction. Timber Ridge Village
Interior and exterior building work continues including stucco siding on Building A, wall sheathing on Building F, and building stitching on the recently installed Building B. With completion of excavation, structural work begins for the retaining wall and parking along Lions Ridge Loop. Lions Ridge Loop will be closed to westbound traffic through November 15 in support of this work. A single lane will remain open as a one-way for eastbound traffic only. The Lions Ridge Loop bus will remain on a normal operating schedule. The Timber Ridge Village housing project consists of a 302-unit multifamily complex. Completion is scheduled for June 2026. Southface Vail (formerly West Middle Creek) Housing Development, 351 N. Frontage Road
Offsite stormwater upgrades begin Sept. 15. A temporary pedestrian reroute of the bike path will be in place through Sept. 28 for the first phase of work. Please follow reroute signs, stay on the temporary path, and be aware of construction equipment, materials, and workers in the area. Crews onsite continue steady work on soil nail wall construction, site grading, and material export across the property. Be aware of trucks regularly entering and exiting the property in support of this work. Solar Vail residents continue to use alternative access through the Red Sandstone School loop. Flaggers are located at the Solar Vail/Red Sandstone School loop intersection in the morning and afternoon to assist with traffic flows during school pick up and drop off. Gore Creek Promenade Renewal
Crews are working to improve access to Gore Creek. This renovation projects includes adding durable surfaces, working on natural turf areas and adding new landscaping. The park will be closed through Nov. 13, weather permitting. The sidewalk and all businesses will remain open. Work hours will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The goal of the project is to address significant wear and tear in the popular park while improving park deficiencies such as lack of seating, improving access to Gore Creek, and ensuring the park is accessible for those with a disability or mobility impairment. Vail Village
The 62, 278 Hanson Ranch Road (formerly Los Amigos)
Work includes complete renovation of the existing restaurant and prep kitchen and landscaping. Work is focused on demolition, interior work, and new construction. Work will be ongoing through the summer months. All work is currently contained within the construction fence. The contractor is RA Nelson, Jonny Cohen, 970-471-9258.
816 Forest Road Entry Bridge
Work for the Forest Road duplexes continues, including the footers, new access road and retaining walls. Approval has been granted for use of the lower lot for staging of material and equipment. Vail Village Snowmelt Repairs
The majority of the work will occur along East Meadow Drive. Initial repairs, which will be completed by RH Mechanical, will not impact bus or pedestrian traffic. Town of Vail contact is Chris Delles, 970-471-2749.
420 S. Frontage Road, Xcel Energy
Phase 2 will start this week and expected to continue through November. Xcel Energy is doing fire valve work on Xcel property at the intersection of Vail Valley Drive and South Frontage Road. Expect shoulder and temporary sidewalk closure on South Frontage Road. Pedestrians, please follow re-routing signs. Completion date is scheduled for early November. Ford Park Playground
Crews will install new rubber surfacing under the swings. The swings have been temporarily removed and fenced off for safety while crews work to install the new safety surfacing. Expected completion in October. Town of Vail Contact is Kim White, 970-343-9259
Lionshead
Vail Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements, 846 Forest Road
Eagle River Water & Sanitation District is upgrading infrastructure and the wastewater treatment process at their wastewater treatment facility in Vail. The project includes stormwater improvements, paving and landscaping with expected completion this summer. ERWSD contact is Mark Mantua, 970-401-0822.
Outlying
West Vail Roundabout Bridge Scour Mitigation
Crews hired by the Town of Vail will begin bridge maintenance this week on the bridge connecting the West Vail south roundabout to Streamside Vail. Work includes installation of boulders and rubble along the bridge abutments and wing walls. The original rock protection installed in 1998 with the construction of the roundabout has been swept downstream over the years during spring runoffs exposing the bridge foundations. Work will be completed by the end of September. The work will take place from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday - Saturday. The contractor is Hallmark, Inc of Denver. Potato Patch Drive Water Tank Maintenance
Eagle River Water & Sanitation District is performing maintenance activities on the below-grade water tank at 756 Potato Patch Drive. Trucks and other heavy equipment will be parked on the side of the road at this location, and activities may occasionally require traffic to travel in the opposite direction of the normal flow on Potato Patch Drive. Traffic control will be in place as needed throughout the project. Work is expected to be complete in mid-November. The ERWSD contact is Dan Duerr, 970-333-6773.
Roadway Resurfacing – Asphalt Overlay
Paving crews will resurface Meadow Drive, Meadow Lane and Juniper Lane. Work includes milling the existing asphalt surface and placing new asphalt. The work will be taking place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday - Saturday, now to Sept. 19. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane with flaggers during work hours. I-70 News
- I-70 West Vail Pass Auxiliary Lanes Project traffic holds are in effect from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. This season, CDOT has launched West Vail Pass text alerts. Text 'vailpass' (one word) to 21000. For more information visit the project page.

Online Community Development Portal
Customers of the Community Development Department have access to a 24/7 online portal to submit applications for contractor registration and construction-related permits. The portal, at http://vail.onlinegovt.com/ also accepts planning applications for review by the Design Review Board and Planning Environmental Commission. In addition, residents can access the citizen portal to submit a code enforcement request or check to see the status of any permit activity in their neighborhood.
