Vail Fire Responds to East Vail Structure Fire

Post Date:11/17/2025 1:14 PM

At approximately 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 16, crews from Vail Fire & Emergency Services (VFES) responded to a report of a structure fire on Black Bear Lane in East Vail. Upon arrival, light smoke could be seen coming from the exterior of the structure.

Crews located a small fire on the first floor that extended into the unit above and the roof. One unit was occupied, and its occupants were relocated for the night. The other unit was unoccupied at the time of the fire. Fire crews removed a portion of the home’s siding and roof to ensure that the fire had not extended further into other units and parts of the structure.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by VFES. The fire was reported by the occupants and nearby neighbors. Early detection of the fire is credited with preventing further damage. Damage was estimated to be approximately $300,000. No injuries were reported.

VFES received assistance from the Eagle River Fire Protection District, Eagle County Paramedic Services, Vail Public Safety Communications Center and the Vail Police Department.
