Vail Public Library offers access to information resources of many types for the needs of Vail’s guests, residents, businesses and schools.

Vail Public Library not only offers fiction and non-fiction books, audiobooks and DVDs for checkout, it also offers access to electronic resources including audiobooks, books, magazines, music, and video with a library card.

Other library services include: nearly 300 magazine subscriptions, internet computers, free WIFI, and special programs for all ages.

The Vail Public Library is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The library is located on the town's bus route across from Dobson Ice Arena at the east end of Lionshead (292 W. Meadow Dr.)

Community Members Sought for Marketing District Advisory Council

The Town of Vail is seeking community members to fill four vacancies on its Vail Local Marketing District Advisory Council (VLMDAC). The mission of the VLMDAC is to market and promote Vail to attract overnight guests, focusing on the May through October time frame, creating economic vitality by increasing both the visitor base and sales tax revenues. Applications are available at https://www.vail.gov/government/boards-commissions-authority-district/vlmd-advisory-council-vlmdac and are due no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10. 

The nine-member, volunteer council provides strategic direction for the activities of the town’s tourism and economic development department, including: 

  • Organization, promotion, marketing, and management of public events;    

  • Activities in support of business recruitment, management, and development;    

  • Coordinating tourism promotion activities; and

  • Facilitating and enhancing visitor experiences.   

The VLMDAC meets on the third Thursday of every month at 8:30 a.m. In addition to the regular meeting, members may attend one additional meeting per month and participate on ad-hoc working groups.  

All four vacant positions are for two-year terms, beginning on Jan. 1, 2026 and expiring on Dec. 31, 2027. To qualify, applicants must own property in Vail. Corporations or entities that own property in Vail may also nominate an employee for the council.
