Featured Projects
Dobson Arena Remodel
Ongoing efforts remain strong with event level masonry walls climbing in the east side of the arena. Structural steel – for large spectator seating - installation continues. Crews continue working on the south interior structure beginning on the concourse level and crews are also pushing forward with NW mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) underground as well as MEP within the framed walls in the east locker rooms. Crews have tightened up construction barriers and expect there will be no full-road closures through the ski season. The project is scheduled to be completed in the fall 2026. Timber Ridge Village
Building A remains a main focus as the team wraps up work on the exteriors and continues with interior finishes and cleaning. Preliminary Building A walk throughs, punch lists, and inspections are underway. Other activities to highlight on site this week include ongoing installation of site stairs, continued siding for Buildings F and B, building stitching and shingle roofing for Building G, and unit stitching, roof framing and interior stair framing for Building D. The first phase of rockfall mitigation fence installation is completed and Lionsridge Loop has reopened. For the upcoming Christmas holiday, crews will shut down operations at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 24 and return to work on Friday, Dec. 26. The Timber Ridge Village housing project consists of a 302-unit multifamily complex. More information on the development and housing units can be found at www.timberridgevail.com. The developer is Triumph Development West, Coleman Wise, 970-401-5304. The site excavating contractor is Schofield Construction, Joe Haugen, 970-210-0020. Southface Vail (formerly West Middle Creek) Housing Development, 351 N. Frontage Road
Continued excavation, soil nail wall drilling, and material export are the primary activities for the next two weeks. Crews wrap up with level four of the building soil nail wall and will move on to level five of the building soil nail wall. Operations will shut down at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 24 for the Christmas holiday and work will resume on Friday, Dec. 26. Shaw Construction contact is John Payne, 303-350-1373. Gore Creek Promenade Renewal
Construction work is completed for the fall 2025 season. The park areas remain closed pending adequate snowpack on the uneven surfaces. Ice sculptures will return in January. Construction on this project is expected to resume in mid-April with a goal of completing the project in late June. The goal of the project is to address significant wear and tear in the popular park while improving park deficiencies such as lack of seating, improving access to Gore Creek, and ensuring the park is accessible for those with a disability or mobility impairment. Vail Village
Vail Athletic Field
Excavation of the site is nearing completion. It will be followed by water, sewer and electric utility installation. Once utilities are installed the contractor will assemble the concrete forms in preparation for concrete pours. Weather has been favorable for construction activity, and the project remains on schedule for a fall 2026 completion date. General Contractor is MW Golden Constructors. The 62, 278 Hanson Ranch Road (formerly Los Amigos)
With scaffolding set up next to the building, work continues on north side to install windows. Work includes complete renovation of the existing restaurant and prep kitchen and landscaping. Work is focused on interior work and new construction. Work will be ongoing through the winter months. Deliveries of materials will occur on Hanson Ranch Road/top of Bridge Street, morning hours only during the winter months as needed with Right-of-Way Permit approval only. All work is currently contained within the construction fence. The contractor is RA Nelson, Jonny Cohen, 970-471-9258.
816 Forest Road Entry Bridge
Work on the Forest Road duplexes continues, including the footers and building foundations, new access road and retaining walls. Approval has been granted for the use of the lower lot for staging materials and equipment. General Contractor is Mexamer Construction Group, Matt Anderson, 970-471-3459. Work on the Red Lion elevator consists of adding a new two-story residential elevator for second level units and expanding existing stairs at the entry of the vestibule. Contractor is Domoplex, Miguel Mendoza, 970-366-8512. Town of Vail contact is Leonard Sandoval, 970-390-4677.
Outlying
Ford Park Bollard Installation Project
The Town of Vail hired Hallmark Inc. to install two retractable bollards and two fixed bollards at the top of East Betty Ford Way to control vehicular access and protect the pedestrian area. This project acts as a pilot/test project for retractable bollards within Vail. Installation of the bollards is complete. Work remains commissioning and testing of the retractable bollards. Lions Ridge Loop Rockfall Mitigation Project
Lions Ridge Loop is back open to traffic. The rockfall fencing installation will halt for the holidays. Crews will return in January as weather allows to complete the last section of fencing. I-70 News
I-70 West Vail Pass Auxiliary Lanes Project
The project is in winter hiatus and will resume for a final expected construction season in spring 2026. No lane closures are expected during the winter break, though minor work may take place away from the roadway. Note: the Vail Pass recreation path is not regularly maintained during the winter season. Regular maintenance will resume in the spring.
Mountain Corridor: Golden to the Utah Border
New this winter season, CDOT has launched an online hub dedicated to the I-70 Mountain Corridor—a one-stop resource for winter driving information, road conditions, and tips for smooth, safe mountain travel. This resource brings together the best tools from COtrip.org and the COtrip Planner app in one centralized location: codot.gov/i70mountain.

Online Community Development Portal
Customers of the Community Development Department have access to a 24/7 online portal to submit applications for contractor registration and construction-related permits. The portal, at http://vail.onlinegovt.com/ also accepts planning applications for review by the Design Review Board and Planning Environmental Commission. In addition, residents can access the citizen portal to submit a code enforcement request or check to see the status of any permit activity in their neighborhood.
