Featured Projects

Dobson Arena Remodel
Ongoing work involves concourse level decking and south roof decking, while crews prepare the south slab on grade safely below. NW deck demo is underway, and mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems teams continue to work on east event level overhead work and electrical room buildout. The team is preparing for west event and west entry MEP overhead, and water entry buildout. Crews have tightened up construction barriers and expect there will be no full-road closures through the ski season. The project is scheduled to be completed in the fall 2026. Contractor is Hyder McHugh Construction. Town of Vail contact is John King, 970-376-0949.

Timber Ridge Village
Every week more residents are moving in to Building A (“Alpine” Building) while crews maintain steady work on the remaining six buildings. Upcoming highlights include stucco siding at Building F, ongoing interior unit stitching for Building B, completion of exterior building stitching for Building G, start of shingle roof installation at Building D, and the start of roof framing for Building E. The Timber Ridge Village housing project consists of a 302-unit multifamily complex. Building F is expected to open in Spring 2026 and the entire project is planned for completion in October 2026. The site excavating contractor is Schofield Construction, Joe Haugen, 970-210-0020. The site construction contractor is Jack Hughes, Shaw Construction, 970-471-0448. Southface Vail (formerly West Middle Creek) Housing Development, 351 N. Frontage Road
Work at the Southface Vail project continues on schedule. Material excavation and export, soil nail wall drilling and spray facing continues across the site. Crews continue working on level six of the building soil nail wall, continue terracing for tower crane foundations and will begin installing micro piles - foundation elements - for the mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls. These operations and concrete pouring will ramp up throughout the month as the team anticipates the start of building foundation excavation. Shaw Construction contact is John Payne, 303-350-1373. Vail Village

Vail Athletic Field 
Concrete pour is complete.  Form boards have been stripped, and crews are sealing concrete and finishing utility subgrade installation. Crews will start back-filling and preparing to go vertical after all inspections are complete.  General Contractor is MW Golden Constructors. The 62, 278 Hanson Ranch Road (formerly Los Amigos) 
Work includes complete renovation of the existing restaurant and prep kitchen and landscaping. Work is focused on interior work and new construction. Work will be ongoing through the winter months. Deliveries of materials will occur on Hanson Ranch Road/top of Bridge Street, morning hours only during the winter months as needed with Right-of-Way Permit approval only. All work is currently contained within the construction fence. The contractor is RA Nelson, Jonny Cohen, 970-471-9258.

816 Forest Road Entry Bridge
Work on the Forest Road duplexes continues, including the footers and building foundations, new access road and retaining walls. Approval has been granted for the use of the lower lot for staging materials and equipment. General Contractor is Mexamer Construction Group, Matt Anderson, 970-471-3459. I-70 News

New this winter season, CDOT has launched an online hub dedicated to the I-70 Mountain Corridor—a one-stop resource for winter driving information, road conditions, and tips for smooth, safe mountain travel. This resource brings together the best tools from COtrip.org and the COtrip Planner app in one centralized location: codot.gov/i70mountain.

Online Community Development Portal

Customers of the Community Development Department have access to a 24/7 online portal to submit applications for contractor registration and construction-related permits. The portal, at http://vail.onlinegovt.com/ also accepts planning applications for review by the Design Review Board and Planning Environmental Commission. In addition, residents can access the citizen portal to submit a code enforcement request or check to see the status of any permit activity in their neighborhood.
