Featured Projects
Dobson Arena Remodel
Crews are wrapping up fireproofing at the concourse level. Overhead work continues in the south side of the Arena at both the event and concourse levels. Drywall is going in at the north restroom and utilities work continues at the northeast and northwest side of the arena. The team is preparing the ice slab area for concrete pour by the end of the month. There is some excavation to remove asphalt on the east side of the arena. The project is scheduled to be completed in the fall 2026. Contractor is Hyder McHugh Construction. Town of Vail contact is John King, 970-376-0949.

Timber Ridge Village
Final round of inspections is complete at Building F, with its Temporary Certificate of Occupancy expected in the coming days. Building G continues advancing on exterior stucco across the north and south elevations alongside ongoing wood siding. At Building B, stucco progresses on the north elevation as exterior paint and caulking work begins. Building E pushes forward on exterior patch-and-stitch, stone veneer, and secondary wall framing on the north side. At Building D, stone veneer and hold-down plate welding continue as the exterior siding sequence ramps up. At Building C shear inspections, shingle roofing, and snow guard installation is underway. On the sitework front, the temporary access road removal is complete, excavation for the western public staircase is underway, and Lions Ridge Loop base prep continues ahead of asphalt paving expected in May. Building F is on the cusp of welcoming its first residents, and the full development remains on track for final delivery in Fall 2026. Southface Vail (formerly West Middle Creek) Housing Development, 351 N. Frontage Road
Excavation and foundation work continue. Soil Nail Wall 3 second-tier work continues as crews drill through solid rock. Mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) wall work progresses in parallel with micropile drilling. Wall 6 excavation and backfill are underway to enable road construction. Waterproofing on the north wall also is underway. Both crane pads are poured, with crane erection targeted for May 11 (Crane A) and May 14 (Crane B). Foundation concrete work continues across the full length of the building pad, with continuous footers and spread footings advancing through multiple areas simultaneously. The first deck slab at the east end of the site is targeted for the end of May. Underground utility conduit and vault work is complete, with gas line installation scheduled for early May. Gore Creek Promenade
Crews continue to haul out excess soil, install drainage systems, and build boulder walls. Crews are excavating and installing paver walkways and flagstone paving. They soon will begin preparing for sod. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The park is closed for the work and is expected to reopen June 26. Vail Village
10th Mountain Division Memorial Landscape Renewal
Work includes the installation of a 750-square-foot stone patio and associated site work around the 10th Mountain Division Statue located near the Vail Covered Bridge. The project includes removal of existing flagstone, installation of natural stone paving, boulders, minor electrical work, and landscape improvements including planting and irrigation. 298 Hanson Ranch Road, New Deck Improvements
Work includes new deck and exterior improvements. Construction staging and fencing will be within the Town of Vail right-of-way but not on the street. Expect single-lane closure as needed for material delivery on Hanson Ranch Road with permit approval between 7 and 8:30 a.m. only. Completion date is scheduled for July 29. The 62, 278 Hanson Ranch Road (formerly Los Amigos)
Work includes complete renovation of the existing restaurant and prep kitchen and landscaping. Work is focused on interior work and new construction. Deliveries of materials will occur on Hanson Ranch Road/top of Bridge Street. All work is currently contained within the construction fence. The contractor is RA Nelson, Jonny Cohen, 970-471-9258.
816 Forest Road Entry Bridge
Work on the Forest Road duplexes continues, including the footers and building foundations, new access road and retaining walls. Approval has been granted for the use of the lower lot for staging materials and equipment. General Contractor is Mexamer Construction Group, Matt Anderson, 970-471-3459. 420 S. Frontage Road, Xcel Energy
Completion of Phase 2 has begun. Traffic lanes and sidewalk on the S. Frontage Road will be narrowed during daylight working hours. Completion of work is scheduled for June 19. Xcel Energy contact is Marc Mayorga, 303-653-2346.
Outlying
Vail Athletic Field
Framing of the sheltered space is underway as the crews prepare for slab-on-grade pour. Safety netting is being installed to ensure the building and field are protected from errant golf balls. Hot applied-roofing material is being installed, and the building will be “dried in” shortly. Mechanical, plumbing and electrical (MEP) contractors will be joining the team to begin interior work. Eagle River Water & Sanitation District is completing a multi-year rehabilitation project on the below-grade water tank on Potato Patch Drive. Trucks and other heavy equipment will be parked on the side of the road and activities may occasionally require traffic to travel in the opposite direction of the normal flow on Potato Patch Drive. Main Gore Place Watermain Improvements
Eagle River Water & Sanitation District will perform waterline replacements in the Gore Creek Meadows community located at 5020 Main Gore PL., in East Vail. The Racquet Club Townhomes, Gore Creek Meadows and Sundial Communities will experience truck and heavy equipment traffic, as well as infrequent water shutdowns which will be communicated prior to taking place. Traffic control will be in place as needed throughout the project. Impacts to public roadways is expected to be minimal. The ERWSD contact is Dan Duerr, 970-333-6773.
Booth Falls, 3035 Booth Falls Rd.
Eagle River Water & Sanitation District will perform emergency power upgrades to the facility located above the Booth Falls Trailhead. Pedestrian access will be maintained from the service gate to the trailhead. Improvements involve grading and clearing for a generator pad and electrical trenching on the service road up to the upper water treatment facility. Following that work, a standby generator and rock fall fence will be installed to provide power to critical pumping and treatment facilities during an extended power outage. I-70 News
Gypsum to Eagle resurfacing
CDOT starts a resurfacing project today from Gypsum to Eagle. Daytime work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday. Nighttime work hours are 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday through Friday. Minimal delays are expected. Traffic impacts include single-lane closures, 11-foot width restriction and a speed reduction to 55 mph. I-70 West Vail Pass Auxiliary Lanes Project
