Shift Bike Returns for Fifth Season

Post Date:05/08/2026 1:11 PM
Shift Bike, the electric bike share system with hubs in Vail, Avon, EagleVail and Edwards, has launched for the 2026 season. An “Early Bird” pricing offer is available for locals through May 11, with 25% off seasonal memberships.

The app-based e-bike share program will run through Oct. 31 and is a partnership between the Town of Vail, Town of Avon, EagleVail Metro District, Edwards Metro District, and Eagle County Government. The system is run by Drop Mobility, the vendor that provides the e-bikes, software platform, and operational expertise behind the service.

The system size is now slightly larger with 165 e-bikes and 35 hub stations from East Vail to the west side of Edwards. In addition, two cargo e-bikes will be stationed at the West Vail Mail starting in June.

Shift Bike is designed to provide short, one-way trips for commuting, running errands or connecting to transit. New this year, riders can now log miles for these types of trips in the Sole Power Plus app as well. Find details at www.solepower.org. For longer excursions, trail riding, or recreation, consider renting a bike or e-bike from a local bike shop.

Learn more at www.shift-bike.com, and find all of the hub stations on the mobile app.
