Featured Projects
Dobson Arena Remodel
Crews moved in sand, then a layer of foam and now are installing 32,000 feet, or 100 rows, of rebar on the Dobson Arena floor. They will install 11 miles of cool-floor piping and then 17,000 square feet of mesh – all gearing up for a 330-yards of continuous concrete pour. The new 17-ton ice machine will spark up in September to move chilled liquid thorough the under-floor pipes. Crews are detailing locker rooms, installing tile and trim. Work continues on the new deck on the south concourse. Outside, crews are finalizing roof work, storm lines, and are preparing to install metal and glass at the west entrance. The bus lane will be closed June 19 for the day-long concrete pour. Contractor is Hyder McHugh Construction. Town of Vail contact is John King, 970-376-0949.

Timber Ridge Village
Building B exterior work moves into its final stretch, with gutters and downspouts wrapping up and the elevator installation now underway. Building G stucco is progressing on the north elevation this week, with exterior paint and caulking continuing across the building. Building E exterior work advances with wood siding progressing on the north and east faces and stucco beginning on the west elevation; the team is focused on achieving full exterior readiness in order to shift focus to elevator installation in early July. Xcel Energy completed gas service connections at Building D last week and continues working across the site. Stone veneer work on Buildings C and D is advancing, with Building D substantially complete and Building C's north and east elevations wrapping up ahead of the south elevation. Site work remains active on multiple fronts: light bollard foundations are underway, road base and fine grading are progressing on the west half inside the fence, the western public staircase is being excavated and formed, and landscaping is underway on the eastern portion of the site For more information on the development and housing units, visit Timber Ridge Village. Southface Vail (formerly West Middle Creek) Housing Development, 351 N. Frontage Road
The two new tower cranes are ready to support vertical construction as the building structure begins to rise. Crews shift into a new phase of work today as forming begins for the first pour of the elevated Level 2 post-tensioned slab—an 8,800-square-foot section spanning the central portion of the building. This will be the project’s first above-grade concrete deck. Foundation and below-grade work remain active across the full site in parallel. In the east, deep underground electrical and plumbing rough-in continue at the building pad, with MEP underground inspections and backfill for the first slab-on-grade zone wrapping up. Shotcrete work on the north wall is ongoing through the central area, and continuous footer and column-and-wall forming is advancing through the west end. Soil Nail Wall 3 third-tier survey and excavation are scheduled to begin mid-week, with drilling to follow. Gore Creek Promenade
Crews are working to pour concrete, install pavers, and prepare the turf area, which will be covered this summer while watering restrictions are in place. Crews continue to bring in boulders to create sitting areas. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The park is closed for the work and is expected to reopen June 26. Vail Village
10th Mountain Division Memorial Landscape Renewal
Work includes the installation of a 750-square-foot stone patio and associated site work around the 10th Mountain Division Memorial. Crews have removed existing flagstone, installed natural stone paving in a design of the 10th Mountain Division’s emblem. Due to the drought conditions, some grass seed will be installed and watered as allowed by Eagle River Water & Sanitation District, but the major shrub and tree plantings will occur in 2027. The hardscape portion of the project is complete. Final electric and irrigation work will start today. Contractor is Rocky Mountain Custom Landscapes, Cody Ferguson 970-456-3922. 298 Hanson Ranch Road - Base Camp
Work includes new deck and exterior improvements. Construction staging and fencing will be within the Town of Vail right-of-way but not on the street. Expect single-lane closure as needed for material delivery on Hanson Ranch Road with permit approval between 7 and 8:30 a.m. only. Completion date is scheduled for July 4. The 62, 278 Hanson Ranch Road (formerly Los Amigos)
Work includes complete renovation of the existing restaurant and prep kitchen and landscaping. Work is focused on interior work and new construction. A crane is on site but will not affect access. Deliveries of materials will occur on Hanson Ranch Road/top of Bridge Street. All work is currently contained within the construction fence. The contractor is RA Nelson, Jonny Cohen, 970-471-9258.
720 S. Frontage Road E
Town of Vail utility work includes burying above ground power lines. Initial work will begin on Spraddle Creek Rd, will continue to S. Frontage Road at Ford Park Parking Lot, then through TOV Shops to Bald Mountain Road. Expect land closure in July. Traffic control will be provided. Completion of project is estimated in August. Outlying
Dowd Junction, Gore Valley Trail
Crews are focused on the restoration of the berm and grass tie-ins to hole No. 6. Interior framing on the building continues with mechanical, electrical and plumbing interior work ongoing. Vail Recreation District contact is Scott O’Connell, 970-477-5264.
Eagle River Water & Sanitation District is completing a multi-year rehabilitation project on the below-grade water tank on Potato Patch Drive. Trucks and other heavy equipment will be parked on the side of the road and activities may occasionally require traffic to travel in the opposite direction of the normal flow on Potato Patch Drive. Main Gore Place Watermain Improvements
Eagle River Water & Sanitation District will perform waterline replacements in the Gore Creek Meadows community located at 5020 Main Gore PL., in East Vail. The Racquet Club Townhomes, Gore Creek Meadows and Sundial Communities will experience truck and heavy equipment traffic, as well as infrequent water shutdowns which will be communicated prior to taking place. Traffic control will be in place as needed throughout the project. Impacts to public roadways is expected to be minimal. The ERWSD contact is Dan Duerr, 970-333-6773.
Booth Falls, 3035 Booth Falls Rd.
Eagle River Water & Sanitation District will perform emergency power upgrades to the facility located above the Booth Falls Trailhead. Pedestrian access will be maintained from the service gate to the trailhead. Improvements involve grading and clearing for a generator pad and electrical trenching on the service road up to the upper water treatment facility. Following that work, a standby generator and rock fall fence will be installed to provide power to critical pumping and treatment facilities during an extended power outage. I-70 News
Gypsum to Eagle resurfacing
CDOT is resurfacing from Gypsum to Eagle now through November. Daytime work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday. Nighttime work hours are 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday through Friday. Daily lane closures between Gypsum to Eagle. Nightly bridge work east of Eagle, near Wolcott. Minimal delays are expected. Traffic impacts include single-lane closures, 11-foot width restriction and a speed reduction to 55 mph. I-70 West Vail Pass Auxiliary Lanes Project
Expect single lane closures during both day and night. Intermittent weekday 20-minute traffic and recreation path holds possible starting this month. Motorists should anticipate traffic will be shifted to the south into a head-to-head, barrier separated alignment in the new eastbound lanes to allow for roadway and wildlife underpass construction.
