Dobson Arena Remodel
The 330 yards of continuous concrete pour for the floor for the Dobson Arena was carefully orchestrated with more than 30 crew members on the floor working to set a flatness classification, move the plastic concrete by hand, and then finish up with a power trowl to smooth the concrete to set. It will cure for the next 28 days while crews continue to work on standing seam roofing, building out the administration spaces and installing tile in the locker rooms. Timber Ridge Village
Construction continues to move forward across Timber Ridge Village. Building B's gutter crew starts wrapping up the building's exterior this week. Building G stucco work continues on the east, west, and north elevations, with metal siding now underway and solar panel installation in progress. Building E exterior work advances with wood siding wrapping up on the south and east faces and exterior paint and caulking getting underway. The team continues coordinating elevator readiness, with Building E checklist items targeted for completion this week and Building G to follow by mid-July. Building D siding work moves to the east elevation this week. Building C continues to make headway on stone veneer across the north, east, and south elevations. On the utilities side, Xcel Energy gas line trenching continues and a new water hydrant meter is being installed. Site work remains active on the west half, with road base and fine grading, trash enclosure framing, and curb and gutter all progressing. Regrading of the bus loop access road is anticipated to start in early July. The team continues to track schedule and sequencing closely across all buildings as the project moves through summer toward completion later this year. Southface Vail (formerly West Middle Creek) Housing Development, 351 N. Frontage Road
All three tower cranes at Southface Vail are now fully up and running, giving crews full reach across the building site. In the center of the site, the large foundation slab poured last week continues to cure, and forming has started for the next elevator core. On the east end, crews are wrapping up underground plumbing and electrical work ahead of the next ground-floor concrete pour. The west end has moved past its foundation walls, with foam insulation and waterproofing now complete and crews shifting into the next phase of wall and column construction. Through the center of the site, work is progressing toward the first pour of the elevated second-floor deck, with reinforcement work underway this week. The hillside retaining wall system on the north side of the site continues to take shape, and underground utility work is wrapping up across the site, with permanent power for construction operations expected within the next two weeks. Gore Creek Promenade
As the project heads into its final week of heavy work, crews continue to complete concrete, flagstone and paver areas as well as electric and irrigation systems. The construction fence will be replaced on Monday with “cattle guard” barriers, and crews will install topsoil and mulch as well as handrails, benches, and bike racks in preparation for reopening the park. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The park is closed for the work and is expected to reopen June 26. Coleman Custom Homes contact is John Michael Cuccio, 225-754-2470. Vail Village
Vail Village and Lionshead Parking Structures
There will be a lighting fixture replacement project in the Vail Village and Lionshead Parking structures starting today and running for about three weeks. Some parking sections, marked with cones and tape, will be temporarily closed on a daily basis, but will not interrupt parking on any given floor. Work hours will be 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The project will save energy while also improving lighting levels in the structures. 298 Hanson Ranch Road - Base Camp
Work includes new deck and exterior improvements. Construction staging and fencing will be within the Town of Vail right-of-way but not on the street. Expect single-lane closure as needed for material delivery on Hanson Ranch Road with permit approval between 7 and 8:30 a.m. only. Completion date is scheduled for July 4. The 62, 278 Hanson Ranch Road (formerly Los Amigos)
Work includes complete renovation of the existing restaurant and prep kitchen and landscaping. Work is focused on interior work and new construction. A crane is on site but will not affect access. Deliveries of materials will occur on Hanson Ranch Road/top of Bridge Street. All work is currently contained within the construction fence. The contractor is RA Nelson, Jonny Cohen, 970-471-9258.

816 Forest Road Entry Bridge
720 S. Frontage Road E
Town of Vail utility work includes burying above ground power lines. Initial work will begin on Spraddle Creek Rd, will continue to S. Frontage Road at Ford Park Parking Lot, then through TOV Shops to Bald Mountain Road. Expect land closure in July. Traffic control will be provided. Completion of project is estimated in August. Outlying
Gore Valley Recreation Trail Section Closed in East Vail
A section of the Gore Valley Recreation Trail in East Vail is temporarily to allow Town of Vail crews to perform shoulder work. The path will be closed from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily from the cul-de-sac at the end of Sunburst Drive to the East Vail interchange. The work is expected to take two weeks. Users are asked to follow the detour signs to the Frontage Road. Town of Vail contact is Rick Gregory 970-477-3425.
The roof recently passed its water test and scheduling is underway to start on exterior stucco. Interior works continues and the job recently received passing inspections for both interior framing and plumbing rough in. Mechanical systems are being installed and electrical rough in is also underway. Concrete is also scheduled to pour the exterior pads for the weather shelter and the trash and recycle shed. A drain pan will also be poured in conjunction to the slab on grade pours. The VRD and Town of Vail are evaluating the condition of the parking and determining how to repair the surface for future parking and events. Eagle River Water & Sanitation District is completing a multi-year rehabilitation project on the below-grade water tank on Potato Patch Drive. Trucks and other heavy equipment will be parked on the side of the road and activities may occasionally require traffic to travel in the opposite direction of the normal flow on Potato Patch Drive. Main Gore Place Watermain Improvements
Eagle River Water & Sanitation District will perform waterline replacements in the Gore Creek Meadows community located at 5020 Main Gore PL., in East Vail. The Racquet Club Townhomes, Gore Creek Meadows and Sundial Communities will experience truck and heavy equipment traffic, as well as infrequent water shutdowns which will be communicated prior to taking place. Traffic control will be in place as needed throughout the project. Impacts to public roadways is expected to be minimal. The ERWSD contact is Dan Duerr, 970-333-6773.
Booth Falls, 3035 Booth Falls Rd.
Eagle River Water & Sanitation District will perform emergency power upgrades to the facility located above the Booth Falls Trailhead. Pedestrian access will be maintained from the service gate to the trailhead. Improvements involve grading and clearing for a generator pad and electrical trenching on the service road up to the upper water treatment facility. Following that work, a standby generator and rock fall fence will be installed to provide power to critical pumping and treatment facilities during an extended power outage. I-70 News
Gypsum to Eagle resurfacing
CDOT is resurfacing from Gypsum to Eagle now through November. Daytime work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday. Nighttime work hours are 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday through Friday. Daily lane closures between Gypsum to Eagle. Nightly bridge work east of Eagle, near Wolcott. Minimal delays are expected. Traffic impacts include single-lane closures, 11-foot width restriction and a speed reduction to 55 mph. I-70 West Vail Pass Auxiliary Lanes Project
Expect single lane closures during both day and night east and westbound from MP 180 to MP 190. The window for helicopter operations requiring traffic holds runs from mid-June to early September. Only a few total traffic hold days are anticipated during this time to move equipment in and out of the area. The traffic holds will last for about 20 minutes in both directions, but delays could be longer as the queues are cleared.
