The Gore Creek Promenade will reopen at the end of the day on Friday, June 26 with new paved pathways, improved seating options, new stream access areas, and a centerpiece 5,500-pound granite firepit in the shape of a pinecone. The popular park has undergone a $2.1 million restoration – the first in more than 30 years – aimed at preserving the character of the park while addressing design and maintenance needs. 

Highlights of the promenade’s renewal project include:  

• New seating options throughout the park 

• Improved access to Gore Creek 

• Durable surfaces such as paver and flagstone walkways 

• Accessibility for those with impaired mobility 

• Art installations including a sculpted granite fire feature 

Due to extreme drought conditions and current watering restrictions, the turf and landscaping in the park will be installed next summer. For more information on the town’s outdoor water use reductions visit www.vail.gov/drought.
