Featured Projects
Dobson Arena Remodel
Windows, glass and storefront work at the west entrance continue. Wood ceiling panels are being installed on the west side as the interior of the arena continues to take shape. Also, on the west side of the arena, crews install permanent power lines, hitting a big milestone. Mechanical teams continue advancing rooftop unit rough-in work, while installation of locker room benches and standing seam roofing progresses steadily. The ice slab dry cure remains on track for completion on July 16, followed by preparations for ice slab protection and arena bowl ceiling paint/trim activities. Commencement of stadia seating installation, and placement of athletic flooring systems continues. Dobson Arena is on track for its grand opening celebration in November. Timber Ridge Village
Along the North Frontage Road, crews work on the bus loop, setting light pole bases and prepping for curb and gutter work later in the week. On the west half of the site, curb and gutter installation wraps up, gate posts go in along the south driveway, and the trash enclosure walls near completion. Building B's exterior work wraps up as gutters and downspouts continue to go in. Building G's metal siding and south elevation wood siding near completion, with exterior paint work continuing across the building. Building E moves stucco work to the north elevation as exterior paint and wood siding on the north face wrap up. Building D continues wood siding on the south and east elevations, shifting toward the west elevation later in the week. Building C wraps up stucco on the west and south elevations, with wood siding getting underway on the west face. The team also continues coordinating elevator installation progress for Building E and readiness items for Building G. Southface Vail (formerly West Middle Creek) Housing Development, 351 N. Frontage Road
Concrete work continues to be a major focus — the first pour of the elevated second-floor deck passed inspection and is scheduled to be poured this week, with shoring and prep work already underway for the second pour. Ground-floor slab work is also progressing, with the next pour in the sequence getting underway in the center of the building. Wall and column construction is advancing across the west end of the building, with two shotcrete applications planned for the north retaining wall this week. On the north side of the site, soil nail wall drilling continues through the third tier, and a new retaining wall section is getting underway in the center of the site. Steel rebar work is active on the building walls across the west end, following the completion of spray foam and waterproofing on the first lift. Vail Village
298 Hanson Ranch Road - Base Camp
Work includes new deck and exterior improvements. Construction staging and fencing will be moved in from the Town of Vail right-of-way for the Fourth of July weekend activities and will not be on the street. Expect single-lane closure as needed for material delivery on Hanson Ranch Road with permit approval between 7 and 8:30 a.m. only. Completion date is scheduled for end of July. The 62, 278 Hanson Ranch Road (formerly Los Amigos)
Work includes complete renovation of the existing restaurant and prep kitchen and landscaping. Work is focused on interior work and new construction. A crane is onsite. Deliveries of materials will occur on Hanson Ranch Road/top of Bridge Street, morning hours only during the winter months as needed with Right-of-Way Permit approval only. All work is currently contained within the construction fence. The contractor is RA Nelson, Jonny Cohen, 970-471-9258.
Work includes resurfacing, roof replacement and internal remodel. Scaffolding will be installed today on the Gore Creek side of the building and will remain until July 17. Contractor is Burke Larson, Vail Custom Homes, 970-390-3188. Town of Vail contact is Leonard Sandoval, 970-479-2198.
816 Forest Road Entry Bridge
720 S. Frontage Road E
Town of Vail utility work includes burying above ground power lines. Initial work will begin on Spraddle Creek Rd, will continue to S. Frontage Road at Ford Park Parking Lot, then through TOV Shops to Bald Mountain Road. Expect lane closure in July. Traffic control will be provided. Completion of project is estimated in August. Outlying
Eagle River Water & Sanitation District is completing a multi-year rehabilitation project on the below-grade water tank on Potato Patch Drive. Trucks and other heavy equipment will be parked on the side of the road and activities may occasionally require traffic to travel in the opposite direction of the normal flow on Potato Patch Drive. Traffic control will be in place as needed throughout the project. Work could go through October. The ERWSD contact is Dan Duerr, 970-333-6773.
Main Gore Place Watermain Improvements
Eagle River Water & Sanitation District is performing waterline replacements in the Gore Creek Meadows community located at 5020 Main Gore PL, in East Vail. The Racquet Club Townhomes, Gore Creek Meadows, and Sundial Communities will be experiencing truck and heavy equipment traffic, as well as infrequent water shutdowns which will be communicated prior to taking place. Traffic control will be in place as needed throughout the project. Impacts to public roadways is expected to be minimal. The project is on track to be completed at the end of August. Booth Falls, 3035 Booth Falls Rd.
Eagle River Water & Sanitation District is performing emergency power upgrades to the facility located above the Booth Falls Trailhead (3035 Booth Falls Rd.) Pedestrian access will be maintained from the service gate to the trailhead. Rockfall fence work is currently occurring. Improvements will involve grading and clearing for a generator pad, and electrical trenching on the service road up to our upper water treatment facility. Following that work, a standby generator and rock fall fence will be installed to provide power to critical pumping and treatment facilities during an extended power outage. I-70 News
Gypsum to Eagle resurfacing
CDOT is resurfacing from Gypsum to Eagle now through November. Daytime work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday. Nighttime work hours are 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday through Friday. Daily lane closures between Gypsum to Eagle. Nightly bridge work east of Eagle, near Wolcott. Minimal delays are expected. Traffic impacts include single-lane closures, 11-foot width restriction and a speed reduction to 55 mph. I-70 West Vail Pass Auxiliary Lanes Project
Traffic Holds - Monday and Tuesday, July 13-14: Motorists can expect 20-minute traffic holds, potentially up to 45-minute delays, on Monday and Tuesday, July 13–14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. These holds are required for helicopter operations delivering avalanche and rockfall mitigation materials.
