Dobson Arena Remodel
Mechanical crews continue roof-top unit rough-in activities while installing the remaining HVAC equipment throughout the facility. Civil work on the west storm system also continues to progress. The west vestibule is transforming as parallel panels go up in the ceiling and painters continue black dryfall painting applications. Roofing operations remain focused on the standing seam roof installation, and interior crews are progressing drywall work within the administration area. Door installation and hardware continue throughout the building, while all mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) trades are actively performing trim-out work. Crews are in the final stages of painting walls throughout the facility, installing gutters, and beginning stadia seating installation. Dobson Arena is on track for its grand opening celebration in November.  Contractor is Hyder McHugh Construction. Timber Ridge Village
Timber Ridge Village construction keeps rolling into the back half of July, with steady progress across both sitework and building exteriors. Along the North Frontage Road, crews finish curb and gutter work at the bus loop and move into final prep for the bus loop driveway. On the west half of the site, curb and gutter work outside the fence is completed, trash enclosure framing and siding continue, and crews begin re-grading the slope near Building A's west stairs ahead of paving, with asphalt paving still on track for the last week of July. Building A continues its irrigation and landscaping work. Building B continues gutter and downspout installation on the exterior, while mechanical and electrical rough-in work in the garage level is completed. Building C moves from stucco into wood siding this week, starting on the west elevation and shifting to the south elevation by week's end, while stone veneer work continues on the north and east sides. Building D continues wood siding work, shifting toward the west elevation, and crews begin connecting the elevator generator. Building E has a busy week — stucco continues on the east and north elevations, metal siding gets underway, and crews begin generator hookup work, while inside, garage-level mechanical and electrical work is completed and elevator installation begins. Building G continues exterior paint and caulking as painters finish detail work on the south side following last week's siding completion, while the final unit interior touch-ups continue in the garage level. Southface Vail (formerly West Middle Creek) Housing Development, 351 N. Frontage Road
This week, crews begin building out several rooms inside the parking garage — including the snow melt, trash, and electrical rooms — with concrete block walls going up as interior work kicks off on both parking levels. Concrete work also remains a major focus: the first pour of the upper-floor concrete deck, on the east end of the building, is being finished out with wall and column work, cable tensioning, waterproofing, and a protective spray coating, while preparation begins for the next deck pour moving toward the center of the building. At ground level, floor work continues moving westward through the building, with the ground being leveled and slabs poured in some areas while underground plumbing and electrical lines are put in ahead of the next section. Retaining wall work remains active across the site — soil backfilling is wrapping up on the poured concrete wall, construction continues on the engineered block retaining wall, and crews continue drilling and anchoring the hillside with steel rods on the north side of the site. Wall and column work also continues at the west end of the building — the final section in this phase of work — with the last part being built and poured this week.  Shaw Construction contact is John Payne, 303-350-1373. I-70 News

Gypsum to Eagle resurfacing 
CDOT is resurfacing from Gypsum to Eagle now through November. Daytime work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday. Nighttime work hours are 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday through Friday. Daily lane closures between Gypsum to Eagle. Nightly bridge work east of Eagle, near Wolcott. Minimal delays are expected. Traffic impacts include single-lane closures, 11-foot width restriction and a speed reduction to 55 mph. For details and updates, visit CDOT’s dedicated I-70 Mountain Corridor page, a one-stop resource for construction information, road conditions, and tips for smooth, safe mountain travel.  

I-70 West Vail Pass Auxiliary Lanes Project

The window for helicopter operations requiring traffic holds runs from mid-June to early September. Only a few total traffic hold days are anticipated during this time to move equipment in and out of the area. The traffic holds will last for about 20 minutes in both directions, but delays could be longer as the queues are cleared. Night work is possible at the start of the season and is expected to be more consistent beginning this summer through the project’s completion.
