Dobson Arena Remodel
Mechanical crews continue RTU rough-in activities while installing the remaining HVAC equipment throughout the facility. Civil work on the west storm system also continues to progress. The west vestibule is transforming as parallel panels go up in the ceiling and painters continue black dryfall painting applications. Roofing operations remain focused on the standing seam roof installation, and interior crews are progressing drywall work within the administration area. Door installation and hardware continue throughout the building, while all MEP trades are actively performing trim-out work. Crews are in the final stages of painting walls throughout the facility, installing gutters, and beginning stadia seating installation. Dobson Arena is on track for its grand opening celebration in November. Contractor is Hyder McHugh Construction. Town of Vail contact is John King, 970-376-0949.

Timber Ridge Village
Timber Ridge Village construction reaches an exciting milestone this week as asphalt paving gets underway on the west half of the site. This follows the completion of curb and gutter work earlier in the week. Pavement crews are expected to be on site through early August. Nearby, trash enclosure work continues, with painting in progress and roofing and overhead doors going in toward the end of the week. Stair railings at Building A's south entry also get installed and painted this week. Building A continues its irrigation and landscaping work, and Building B's exterior work stays focused on gutters and downspouts. Building C keeps moving through color coat stucco on the south and west elevations. Building D hits a visible milestone of its own, as stone veneer installation is completed this week. The Lionsridge Loop retaining wall is set to begin its own stone veneer finish in the days ahead. Building E continues stucco on the north elevation and starts metal siding. Building G finishes metal siding on the exterior, and garage-level mechanical and electrical work nears completion inside. Look for freshly paved roads and continued exterior progress across several buildings as the project heads into August. Southface Vail (formerly West Middle Creek) Housing Development, 351 N. Frontage Road
This week, concrete work remains the focus at Southface Vail. Crews are prepping for the next upper-floor deck pour, which is shifting toward the center of the building. Meanwhile, wall and column work at the west end wraps up, completing that phase of construction. At ground level, one section of flooring is being poured this week and crews are prepping the ground for the next section further along. Retaining wall work stays active across the site, with crews wrapping up backfill on one section of the engineered block retaining wall and starting excavation for the next section just beyond it. Reinforcing work also gets underway on the latest section of the hillside retaining wall to the north. On the utility side, crews are capping a storm drain near the transformer pad — a step toward getting power turned on. Inside, the parking garage continues to take shape room by room. Vail Village
298 Hanson Ranch Road - Base Camp
Work includes new deck and exterior improvements. Construction staging is contained within fencing and screen. Expect single-lane closure as needed for material delivery on Hanson Ranch Road with permit approval between 7 and 8:30 a.m. only. Completion date is scheduled for mid-August. The 62, 278 Hanson Ranch Road (formerly Los Amigos)
Work includes complete renovation of the existing restaurant and prep kitchen and landscaping. Work is focused on interior work and new construction. Deliveries of materials will occur on Hanson Ranch Road/top of Bridge Street, morning hours only during the summer months as needed with Right-of-Way Permit approval only. All work is currently contained within the construction fence. The contractor is RA Nelson, Matt Johanningmeier, 970-401-0430.
Work includes resurfacing, roof replacement and internal remodel. Use of Gore Creek Drive for trash removal and material delivery to occur, Monday – Thursday, 7 to 8:30 a.m. as needed during the summer months. 816 Forest Road Entry Bridge
720 S. Frontage Road E
Town of Vail utility work includes burying above ground power lines. Initial work will begin on Spraddle Creek Rd, will continue to S. Frontage Road at Ford Park Parking Lot, then through TOV Shops to Bald Mountain Road. Expect lane closure in July. Traffic control will be provided. Completion of project is estimated in August. Outlying
The roof recently passed its water test and scheduling is underway to start on exterior stucco. Interior works continues and the job recently received passing inspections for both interior framing and plumbing rough in. Mechanical systems are being installed and electrical rough in is also underway. Concrete is also scheduled to pour the exterior pads for the weather shelter and the trash and recycle shed. A drain pan will also be poured in conjunction to the slab on grade pours. The VRD and TOV are evaluating the condition of the parking and determining how to repair the surface for future parking and events. Vail Recreation District contact is Scott O’Connell, 970-477-5264.
Eagle River Water & Sanitation District is completing a multi-year rehabilitation project on the below-grade water tank on Potato Patch Drive. Trucks and other heavy equipment will be parked on the side of the road and activities may occasionally require traffic to travel in the opposite direction of the normal flow on Potato Patch Drive. Traffic control will be in place as needed throughout the project. Work could go through October. The ERWSD contact is Dan Duerr, 970-333-6773.
Main Gore Place Watermain Improvements
Eagle River Water & Sanitation District is performing waterline replacements in the Gore Creek Meadows community located at 5020 Main Gore PL, in East Vail. The Racquet Club Townhomes, Gore Creek Meadows, and Sundial Communities will be experiencing truck and heavy equipment traffic, as well as infrequent water shutdowns which will be communicated prior to taking place. Traffic control will be in place as needed throughout the project. Impacts to public roadways is expected to be minimal. The project is on track to be completed at the end of August. Booth Falls, 3035 Booth Falls Rd.
Eagle River Water & Sanitation District is performing emergency power upgrades to the facility located above the Booth Falls Trailhead (3035 Booth Falls Rd.) Pedestrian access will be maintained from the service gate to the trailhead. Rockfall fence work is ongoing. Improvements will involve grading and clearing for a generator pad, and electrical trenching on the service road up to our upper water treatment facility. Following that work, a standby generator and rock fall fence will be installed to provide power to critical pumping and treatment facilities during an extended power outage. West Vail Water Main Improvements
A large construction effort is planned in the West Vail Matterhorn Area. The Eagle River Water & Sanitation District (ERWSD) will replace portions of aging water mains and sanitary sewer mains in Geneva Drive. ERWSD will also install water service lines and sanitary sewer service lines on the new water main. The project is expected to begin in August 2026. The project is expected to break for winter months and resume again in 2027. We expect the project to be completed by October 2027. Traffic delays may also occur as improvements will be constructed in Geneva Drive, Matterhorn Circle and Upper Matterhorn Circle. Roadway work is extensive and will require temporary closures and detours. The project is on track to be completed at the end of 2027. The ERWSD contact is Mark Mantua, 970-401-0822.
I-70 News
Gypsum to Eagle resurfacing
CDOT is resurfacing from Gypsum to Eagle now through November. Daytime work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday. Nighttime work hours are 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday through Friday. Daily lane closures between Gypsum to Eagle. Nightly bridge work east of Eagle, near Wolcott. Minimal delays are expected. Traffic impacts include single-lane closures, 11-foot width restriction and a speed reduction to 55 mph. I-70 West Vail Pass Auxiliary Lanes Project
The window for helicopter operations requiring traffic holds runs from mid-June to early September. Only a few total traffic hold days are anticipated during this time to move equipment in and out of the area. The traffic holds will last for about 20 minutes in both directions, but delays could be longer as the queues are cleared. Night work is possible at the start of the season and is expected to be more consistent beginning this summer through the project’s completion.
