Dobson Arena Remodel

Dobson wrapped a busy few weeks with 20 different crews and over 100 workers onsite. The big current themes are paint, electronics and ice with dryfall continuing throughout the building, speakers being wired and hung and the ice plant being brought online to cool the ice floor. Another exciting milestone: the scoreboards were hung on Thursday. Metal, stone and fascia continues to be applied to the exterior and landscape walls are being installed. The plumbing system is being chlorinated. Contractor is Hyder McHugh Construction. Timber Ridge Village

Timber Ridge Village keeps up a steady pace this week, with progress visible across the site and several buildings. Sidewalk pours continue near Buildings B and G, and Building A's south entry stair railings get installed and painted. Building B begins garage door installation this week. Building C continues wood siding on the south and east elevations, moving toward the north face as the week progresses. Building D continues stucco work on the east elevation. Building E has a busy week, with metal siding and generator connection work continuing on the exterior. The building's solar panel system goes in as well. Building G continues connecting its generator and moves into garage door work. Look for continued sidewalk work and steady exterior progress across the buildings, as the future bus stop moves closer to completion.

Southface Vail (formerly West Middle Creek) Housing Development, 351 N. Frontage Road

This week at Southface Vail marks a big milestone: the first concrete pour on the building's third floor happens Monday. Curing, form removal, and cable tensioning follow through the rest of the week. Much of the work this week reflects a pattern that's been building all summer — crews complete one section of the building before shifting to the next, moving steadily across the structure from east to west. On the second floor, that means column and wall work wraps up on last week's deck section just as rebar and cable-tensioning work picks up on the next one. At the west end, that same progression brings the last footing and column work on the ground floor to a close this week, with the final piece of that structural work starting right behind it. On the hillside retaining wall to the north, the sequence continues too: crews install the drain behind the completed wall section while excavation begins on the next section further along.  Shaw Construction contact is John Payne, 303-350-1373. Vail Nature Center In-Stream Restoration 

In-stream excavation for the partnership project between Town of Vail, Trout Unlimited and Colorado Parks and Wildlife will begin on Monday, August 10 and continue through September 30. Work will begin at the upstream end of the project reach closest to the property boundary with the Golf Course. Construction access will be from Vail Valley Drive down the access road to the Nature Center. Town of Vail Contact is Pete Wadden, 970-568-6753. Westbound I-70 
Various single-lane closures are possible between Vail Pass and East Vail, Mile Points 190 and 180, from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day starting Monday, Aug. 24, through Friday, Aug. 28. Single-lane closures are also possible the morning of Saturday, Aug. 29, from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. No night work is scheduled this week. 
  
Eastbound I-70 
Various single-lane closures are possible between East Vail and Vail Pass, Mile Points 180 and 190, from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day starting Monday, Aug. 24, through Friday, Aug. 28. Single-lane closures are also possible the morning of Saturday, Aug. 29, from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. No night work is scheduled this week.
