Pete Seibert Jr. came to Vail in 1962 as a young boy when his father founded the Vail ski area. He spent his childhood growing with the new town and ski racing. Pete graduated from Middlebury College and soon followed that with an MBA from the University of Denver.
He spent three fun years on the Vail Ski Patrol and that led to supervisory and management positions at Snowbasin, Utah, Sun Valley, Idaho, and Arrowhead Mountain. Back in his home valley, Pete’s family grew quickly with 4 children, so he opted to pursue a career in real estate – and continues in the same career 33 years later. His children all live in the Vail Valley – Pete, Anna and Lizzie. Tragically, son Tony lost his life in a ski accident in 2014.
Pete and his partner Kate Allan live in the Chamonix Vail neighborhood in West Vail, spending their free time outside as much as they can. They met on a Grand Canyon river trip and continue to share their love of the outdoors, including hiking, biking and all forms of skiing.
“Vail has always been about excellence, from World Cup ski racing to the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. People like my Dad, Earl Eaton, Dave Gorsuch and Pepi Gramshammer had a vision and spirit that made Vail the best. We as a community have the opportunity to continue their dream, if we choose to work together and pursue it.”
