Please be advised that our permitting and planning software systems will be temporarily unavailable due to scheduled maintenance starting at 3:00 PM MST on September 30th and ending at 8:00 AM MST on September 31st. This will affect both the application/permit portal as well as our ProjectDox Plan Review portal.
We recommend that you plan accordingly and complete any necessary tasks before this downtime period.

The Community Development Department has updated its office hours.
Monday – Thursday: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Please note that the office will be closed for lunch from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM daily.
Fridays: Appointment Only
Appointments must be scheduled 24 hours in advance
Application Review Times:
Due to a high volume of building permit and planning applications, our plan review time is longer than usual. Design Review Board applications will receive an email notification directly from planning staff when their application is up for review.
2024 Code Adoption:
On October 1, 2024, the Vail Town Council approved the adoption of the 2024 editions of the International Building Code, International Residential Code, International Fire Code, International Energy Conservation Code, International Plumbing Code, International Fuel Gas Code, International Mechanical Code, International Existing Building Code, and the 2023 Edition of the National Electrical Code, with amendments. These codes will be applicable to all permits submitted to the Town on or after January 1, 2025. Click here for more information.
