*Fire Contractors performing inspecting, testing, and maintenance on any fire sprinkler system, Per the Division of Fire Prevention and Control requirements, must hold a Fire Inspector II or NICET III to perform inspections. Any testing and maintenance to a system that involves putting a wrench or taking the system apart, must hold a Fire Sprinkler Fitters license. If your company is going to be performing any inspections, testing, and maintenance on fire sprinkler systems in the Town of Vail, these certifications must be uploaded as well with your registration. Field credentials will be checked whenever VFES request.

Includes – Installers of Carbon Monoxide Systems, Gas Systems, and Lithium-Ion Battery  Detection in Commercial and Residential Buildings.

Fire Contractors performing inspecting, testing, and maintenance on fire alarm system, per the must hold a NICET II or higher, or a Certified Fire Alarm Technician or a Division of Fire Prevention and Control Fire Inspector I. If you business and employees will be performing inspections, testing, and maintenance in the Town of Vail, please upload the certifications as required by NFPA 72.

Fire Alarm Systems Contractor Registration & Field Requirements

Includes – Installers of ERECS Systems in Commercial Buildings.

Emergency Responder Communication Enhancement Systems Contractor Registration & Field Requirements

Includes – Vendors using vehicles and/or trailers who prepare food under kitchen hood systems or other methods that are potential fire risk.

1.  Review Mobile Food Truck Trailer Contractor Requirements (below link). This includes filling out this form, downloading, and then saving. 

2. Contact Community Development at cdev@vail.gov or calling 970-473-2139  to learn how to become a registered "Fire Contractor Other."

3. Once registration is completed and a payment is made, then email copy(s) of your completed form(s), all credentials and certifications as listed in requirements to Community Development Admin Team at: cdev@vail.gov

4. Once you are a registered fire contractor, then you can apply for a operational fire permit following the Mobile Food Truck Submittal Forms found on this webpage

Once reviewed by VFES, contractor license will be issued and valid for a period of 1 year. Each year, mobile food contractors will be required to update credentials and certifications.  

Includes – Contractors who are registered with the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control as licensed pyrotechnicians who display commercial fireworks. Not for residential use.

Includes – Contractors who build tents, stages, air supported devices  and other special event  membrane structures.
