The rules and laws were adopted to increase the safety of pedestrian traffic, reduce environmental impacts, allow for better emergency vehicle access by reducing congestion, and provide for a coordinated permitting process for certain low-impact vehicles to access pedestrian mall areas.
he Vail Passenger Transportation Ordinance authorizes the Town of Vail to implement and enforce a permitting system capable of tracking the number of authorized shuttles, courtesy cars, luxury limousines, taxis and buses in the Village Core and Lionshead.
The system addresses staging, congestion and ease of service issues.
