PUBLIC NOTICE

REGULAR MUNICIPAL ELECTION

TOWN OF VAIL, COLORADO

NOVEMBER 4, 2025 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to the Colorado Municipal Election Code (C.R.S. § 31-10-501) that at the Regular Municipal Election of the Town of Vail to be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., there will be submitted to the registered qualified electors of the Town of Vail, Colorado, a ballot that includes both a candidate election and ballot question proposal.

Registered electors may vote for up to four town council persons.  The three candidates receiving the highest number of votes shall be elected to four-year terms and the fourth candidate receiving the next highest number of votes will serve for two years.  The six candidates (in ballot order) are as follows:

Kevin R. Foley

Dave Tucker

Kim Langmaid

Sam Biszantz

Barry Davis

SHALL TOWN OF VAIL TAXES BE INCREASED $8,700,000 IN THE FIRST FULL FISCAL YEAR AND BY WHATEVER AMOUNTS ARE RAISED ANNUALLY THEREAFTER, BY THE LEVY OF A NEW TAX ON SHORT-TERM RENTAL ACCOMMODATIONS AT A RATE OF SIX PERCENT (6%) OF THE TOTAL CONSIDERATION PAID FOR SUCH ACCOMMODATIONS, TO TAKE EFFECT ON JANUARY 1, 2026, WITH THE REVENUES FROM SUCH TAX TO BE USED TO FUND HOUSING ACTIVITIES, HOUSING DEVELOPMENTS, HOUSING PROGRAMS AND RELATED ACTIVITIES INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE TOWN; AND SHALL THE REVENUES FROM SUCH TAX AND ANY INVESTMENT EARNINGS THEREON BE COLLECTED AND SPENT BY THE TOWN FOR THE ABOVE-STATED PURPOSES AS A VOTER-APPROVED REVENUE CHANGE, WITHOUT REGARD TO ANY SPENDING, REVENUE-RAISING OR OTHER LIMITATION CONTAINED IN ARTICLE X, SECTION 20 OF THE COLORADO CONSTITUTION OR ANY OTHER LAW?

Those persons who are citizens of the United States, eighteen (18) years of age or older, who have been residents of the Town of Vail for twenty-two (22) days preceding the election and who have been duly registered with Eagle County, shall be entitled to vote at said election. 

 There will be one election precinct for said Regular Municipal Election, the boundaries of which shall be the same as those of the Town and the voter service center for which shall be the Grand View Room, Vail, Colorado. 

 The Nov. 4 election is a coordinated election format with all voting taking place by mail.  Voters who receive ballots for this election must return the completed ballot by 7:00 p.m. Election Day to be counted.
