Donovan Park will continue to offer free parking with a new plate registration system to help better utilize parking availability and provide information to users. Parkers will register a vehicle and receive same day information when the lot is closed for an event. Previously when an event was scheduled at Donovan Pavillion, the lot is closed for the entire day, leaving unused parking. This program will be a pilot to test the feasibility of allowing parking on the same day as, but not during, an event.

Drop off or short-term parking

Vail Village and Lionshead parking structures offer 1 hour of free parking.  Ford Park lot, Vail Athletic Fields/Soccer lot, and Red Sandstone garage offer 2 hours free parking. See signs at entrance for details.

Vail Village and Lionshead Structures

These parking structures offer close-in parking to the main villages.  A free bus runs frequently through the villages with stops at these parking structures.

Red Sandstone Garage 

Located across the pedestrian bridge on the North side of I-70, this garage offers a short walk or free bus ride into the Vail and Lionshead Villages.  This is a great option for those looking for a more economical daily and overnight rate.  There is an 8ft clearance as an option for taller vehicles.

Ford Park Lot & Soccer/Vail Athletic Fields Lot

These lots offer a short walk or bus ride into Golden Peak or Vail Village areas.  These open air lots are a great choice for taller vehicles and offer a more economical daily rate.  Overnight parking is not allowed at these locations.

Frontage Road Parking Availability - Restricted

• Overflow parking only when all other lots are filled. 
• Refer to the electronic signs located at the main Vail off ramps (exit 176) to make sure the overflow parking option is legally available upon your arrival. 
• Parking is only available where the street signs indicate.
• During overflow situations, this parking is free and available until 11 p.m.

Free Outlying Parking

Donovan Park - 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
